Lilly’s core argument is that "Research Use Only" was a sham — and it pointed at dosing charts, injection instructions, weight-loss claims and social posts as the proof. Retatrutide is not approved anywhere in the world; Lilly does not plan to file with FDA until 2027.

Seven RUO peptide sellers on a single day in March — Gram Peptides, Pink Pony Peptides, Mile High Compounds, Prime Sciences, PekCura Labs and others — then four more in August: Royal Peptides, Peptide Partners, Peak Performance Peptides, NuScience Peptides. Each is searchable on fda.gov by name. Every one of them had "Research Use Only" on the label.

Connecticut’s Attorney General sued a distributor that "nominally claims to sell lab supplies" while marketing research-grade GLP-1 peptides to consumers — under the state unfair trade practices act plus unlicensed practice of pharmacy, at up to $5,000 per violation. Ohio’s pharmacy board has issued summary suspensions reaching non-pharmacy distributors over BPC-157, TB-500 and ipamorelin.

The single most-cited item in every warning letter. Hedging does not help — FDA quoted "Research shows Prostamax can improve bladder control" as a violative claim.
FDA’s exact rationale: offering reconstitution solvent is "providing the means to prepare an injectable drug for human administration." Cited against at least four sellers in 2026. It is a product-mix problem, not a copy problem — which is why almost nobody catches it.
FDA’s own live alert page states RUO-labeled peptides are being sold to consumers "with dosing instructions." That sentence is FDA pre-stating the intended-use case against any store that publishes this content.
In the PureRawz letter FDA quoted a site review verbatim as evidence of human-use intent. Reviews you host are evidence against you.
"Up to 22.5% body weight reduction in participants over 72 weeks" was cited against Royal Peptides. Human-outcome data on a product page is human-use intent.
Pleaded in the Lilly complaints and central to the Connecticut AG case. What you rank and advertise for is read as who you are selling to.
